Developing countries and access to F1000

F1000 is keen to make itself available to scientists in all countries, including developing countries, so we offer free subscriptions to institutions in the poorest countries, in line with HINARI (Health InterNetwork Access to Research Initiative).

In addition, we are offering Faculty Members the opportunity to nominate an institute of their choice in a developing country for free access to F1000. This list is based on (but not limited to) the HINARI 'deeply discounted' countries list. To nominate your institution, you need to make 3 (accepted) evaluations every 3 months (not missing more than 1 month in a row). Your sponsored institute will continue to retain free access as long as you do this.

If you are interested, please become a sponsor.
If you qualify to sponsor an developing country institution you also qualify for complimentary subscriptionsfree lab subscriptions

What one of the F1000-sponsored institutes has to say:

" ...I just want you to know how useful your service has been for all researchers that work here. Not being able to get subscriptions for many regular publications that we use for our research, your help has been invaluable. We appreciate very much your work and hope to be able to keep the subscription for many years."
Gabriela Echaniz, Head, Department of Clinical Epidemiology
National Institute of Public Health, Cuernavaca, Mexico
